About Thomas Atkinson
Most facility consultants have never trained an elite athlete. Most coaches have never laid a subfloor. Thomas has done both.
Thomas started his career in construction at 16, working through the trades before moving into estimating and quantity surveying. Two years travelling across Asia and Australia shifted everything — it was there he fell in love with sport, coaching and the environments that make elite performance possible.
Back in the UK, he joined the Harbour Club as Operations Manager and went on to shape facilities for Virgin Active Collection, Third Space and Gymbox, where he became Head of Product. He then led the global launch of HYTRO and drove PLAE’s strategic expansion across EMEA — all while privately coaching professional athletes across football, rugby, boxing and the UFC.
HPFC was the natural next step. A consultancy built by someone who has been on every side of a performance facility — designing it, building it, procuring it, and training in it.
